Livingston-McLean County Intercity Service (Suspended)

Due to funding interruption from the Illinois Department of Transportation, SHOW BUS Public Transportation will be suspending the Livingston-McLean County Intercity Service. As funding is re-allocated for this service it will be restarted. For further information regarding this service, please refer to this page or contact us.

For the Intercity Service, there are central pickup locations along Route 66 from Pontiac to Bloomington/Normal. From this route a rider is able to access long distance bus and train routes with stops in:

Riders may travel to Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Champaign, Peoria, Galesburg, and Springfield as passengers on:

From Bloomington's Pilot Station, riders may catch the Lime Route offered by Bloomington/Normal Public Transit service, Connect Transit, or call a taxi.

From Normal's Uptown Station, a Connect Transit hub, riders may catch any of the Connect Transit routes to many destinations including the Central Illinois Regional Airport, Bloomington/Normal Hospitals, restaurants and shopping. Riders may also hail a taxi.

The Livingston/McLean Intercity Route has direct connections to the Pontiac Local Route (hourly service throughout Pontiac) and the Route 24 Limited Stop Service (daily service along Route 24 between Piper City and Chenoa). Individual off-route pick ups may be arranged by calling the office.

Who can ride?

Everyone can ride. We are Public Transportation and all of our vehicles are fully accessible.

Can there be more than one stop?

Persons riding the Intercity Service can board and deboard multiple times along the route as long as they meet the bus at a designated stop. There is no additional charge for this service.

How can rides be arranged?

Riders may catch the service at any of the stops without prior reservations unless the stop is marked "(call)." Requests for individual off-route pick ups must be made by 9:00 a.m. on the weekday before the day of service. To make a reservation for the individual service, contact the SHOW BUS office.
